Terms for the free beta
Version 2026-08-13 · effective from 13 August 2026
1. Agreement
These terms form an agreement between the user and Rasmus Jensen, who operates SikkerFTP.dk as a private, free beta service in Denmark. By creating an account, the user accepts the version stated above.
2. Purpose of the service
SikkerFTP.dk provides temporary SFTP endpoints and web-based file access. Its purpose is to move files from one party or IT system to another. The service is not intended as an archive, backup, document store, disaster recovery solution or sole storage location.
3. Free beta without service commitments
- The service is provided without payment, SLA, uptime guarantee, fixed support hours or guarantee of continued operation.
- Features, quotas and access may change, be restricted or be phased out. Material changes are handled with the notice and acceptance required by mandatory law.
- The operator may interrupt the service immediately for security risks, abuse, capacity issues, maintenance or requirements from authorities.
4. User responsibilities
The user is solely responsible for file contents, lawfulness, accuracy, classification, recipients and necessary permissions. The user must:
- retain a complete original or backup outside SikkerFTP.dk;
- verify that the transfer has completed and files have been downloaded correctly;
- protect passwords, endpoint details and recipient access;
- delete files and endpoints once the transfer is complete;
- comply with applicable law and third-party rights.
5. Prohibited use and content
The service must not be used for illegal content, malware, harassment, copyright infringement, mass distribution, scanning, bypassing security or activities that overload or harm the service or others.
Special categories of personal data, criminal offence data, Danish CPR numbers, patient data, payment card data, private keys, passwords or other high-impact content must not be uploaded during the beta. When the service is used on behalf of a company, authority or organisation, the data processing agreement applies to the permitted ordinary personal data.
6. Security, storage and backups
- SFTP and HTTPS encrypt data in transit. Files are not encrypted on the data disk.
- Each endpoint has an isolated folder and quota, but technical failures or security incidents cannot be ruled out.
- Customer files are not backed up, either locally or off-site.
- When an endpoint is deleted, access is removed immediately. The isolated folder may remain inaccessible for up to 30 days, but may also be lost earlier. Recovery is not part of the service.
7. Accounts and access
An account is personal to its holder. Users must not share portal credentials and must immediately rotate compromised endpoint passwords. The operator may suspend or close an account for breaches of these terms, risks to the service or extended inactivity.
8. Rights to content
Users retain their rights to files and grant the operator only the limited right to technically receive, store, copy internally and deliver them as necessary for the service, security and lawful requests from authorities.
9. Limitation of liability
The service is used at the user's own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by Danish law, the operator is not liable for loss of or damage to files, unsuccessful transfers, outages, unauthorised access, lost profits, business interruption, consequential losses or third-party claims.
The operator is liable only where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, including under mandatory consumer rules or in cases of intent or gross negligence. For business users, any total direct liability, where limitation is permitted, is capped at DKK 500 per rolling 12-month period.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that a consumer cannot validly waive.
10. Closure
Users may stop using the service and delete their endpoints. Account closure can be arranged through support@sikkerftp.dk. Before leaving, users must download any required files themselves. The operator may close the free beta with reasonable notice where circumstances allow, or immediately for urgent security or operational needs.
11. Governing law and disputes
The agreement is governed by Danish law. Disputes should first be addressed through dialogue. Mandatory consumer jurisdiction and complaint rights apply regardless of this clause; other disputes are resolved by the Danish courts.
12. Contact
The current support procedure describes contact channels and priorities. Privacy is covered in the privacy policy.
